Crypto Community Rushes to Ukraine’s Defense Armed With NFTs, DAOs. Ukraine is under siege, and the crypto community is doing its best to help. The Ukrainian government posted ETH and BTC addresses for the world to send funds to, and other initiatives (such as NFT sales) have been spun up to donate directly to both folks on the ground and military support. With calls for Russia to be cut off from centralized exchanges, crypto donations take on a whole new meaning. THE WORLD & WEB3 STANDS WITH UKRAINE 💪

Pussy Riot, Trippy Labs, PleasrDAO Members Launch 'Ukraine DAO'. UkraineDAO was organized by Pussy Riot, Trippy Labs, PleasrDAO, and Ukrainian humanitarian activists to raise funds through NFT sales. Funds raised from this sale will be directed to helping the Ukrainian civilians suffering from the war initiated by Putin. The PartyBid has already amassed over $3.2M to purchase the 1/1 Ukrainian flag. The power of the people + crypto capital formation.  ONE FLAG AT A TIME 🇺🇦

Austrian Programmer And Ex Crypto CEO Likely Stole $11 Billion Of Ether. Alongside the announcement of her new book, Laura Shin believes to have uncovered the identity of The DAO hacker, an individual who stole 3.6 million ether in 2016 from the original DAO, leading to a hard fork of the network. Toby Hoenisch, former CEO of failed ICO TenX, is believed to have been the hacker, although he denies the allegations and refuses to speak to Shin. The story of the investigation is incredible, a true technological and cerebral feat. INCREDIBLE PIECE 🔥

Are DAOs the new corporate paradigm? Are DAOs the future of organizations? Andrew Singer surveys the ecosystem, exploring whether DAOs can truly be the next step in the evolution of organizations. Brody of E&Y argues, "The ability to delegate your votes to industry or topic experts will allow owners to exercise a much stronger and clearer voice in the management of these companies." Delegation is just one of DAOs’ major unlocks, but there are also major challenges in governance, coordination, and philosophy. However, these are human problems, and they’re a constant work in progress. GLOBAL TREASURE 🔮

Web3 Reputation Market Map. Kerman Kohli maps the web3 Reputation Market, highlighting both web2 solutions (Github) as well as web3-native ones such as Gitcoin and Coordinape. "What’s really neat is that many of these vectors of reputation are composable with each other and can be remixed as APIs," says Kohli. As more reputation sources are built out, it will become increasingly important to integrate them contextually and weed out bad data. TOWARDS CONTEXTUAL REPUTATION 🔑

Growth Frameworks from Web2 to Web3. Mati Honorato digs into web3 growth strategies, breaking down how to attract, monetize, and retain customers across web3-native startups. In particular, the explanation of customer acquisition methods in web3 and how they’re adapted from web2 is very useful: BD becomes integrations, engagement becomes community, and growth hacking becomes tokenomics. Seeing these parallels opens up the design space, and there’s still much more to uncover. SUPER INSIGHTFUL 🔬

Music NFTs Become Latest Battleground Between Capitalists and Creators. This piece by MacEagon Voyce highlights the ongoing conversation around Music NFTs, and whether they’re truly a net positive for the industry. Voyce sums it up better than we can: “Pursuing NFTs as an income source doesn’t imply that artists are primarily in it for the money… if we can decrease the chasm of inequity – if through web3 more artists are making a sustainable living than they were before – isn’t that worth pursuing?”. WE THINK SO... ⚡️
